When you get your puppy, you need to understand that they will have accidents, whether they are being trained for indoor or out they will not go where you want them to all of the time. When the accident occurs, and you can be sure that it will, it is important to show them and tell them NO firmly, and then bring them to where they will be doing their “business”. Be sure to clean up the mess entirely so there is no odor left, or they might go there again.

If you need to leave your puppy alone, and you do not want to put them in a crate, find a place to confine them to with floors that can be cleaned easily, even if you need to get one of those plastic or wooden gates to keep them in a room. If you are training your puppy to go potty indoors, confine them to the area with the potty. Take them out as soon as you get home.
